April Showcase: Jean Hirons

In April, stop by to enjoy Jean Hirons’s solo art show. Jean Hirons is well known in the area for her beautiful pastel landscapes. The paintings in this show were all created within the past year during a period of experimentation. Working on handmade surfaces, she has created textured layers of color using square and oblong formats. While her subject matter includes Rehoboth Bay, Cape Cod, and the Scottish Isles, many of the paintings are from her imagination. The show also includes some of the many studies that she created on sanded paper in preparation for the paintings.

Jean is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America and a Master Circle member of the International Association of Pastel Societies. She has taught at Montgomery College, the Yellow Barn and her in own studio. Her most recent show was at Strathmore in late 2022. Her work can be seen at www.jeanhirons.com.

This free show is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.
